RECITAL OF SONGS
A recital, of songs was given by the pupils of Mrs. A. Ginn in the Pioneer Clubroom on . Friday evening. All the pupils acquitted themselves most creditably, and the programme presented was of a. varied and enjoyable nature. '"I.: AVill Await 'Thee" (Conihgsby Clarke), Miss M.'Shorter;' "Litany" (Schubert), "The Shell"' '(Brahms); Mrs. Forde; "Bless This House" (Brahe), "Pansies" (Elgar), Miss Brooks; "All Thro' the Night" (Tradtl.), "Bird Songs at Eventide" (Coates), Mrs. A. Horn). Mrs. E. F. Hollands; "Virgin's Slumber Song". (Reger), "Secrecy" (Wolf), Miss Mavis Chamberlain; "Irish ■Noel" (Holmes), "Peter Go Ring Dem Bells" (Spiritual), Mrs. Cleary; "Russian Lament" (del Riego), "Serenade" (Massenet). Miss E. Greig; "In the Silent Night" (Rachmaninov); "Harvest of Sorrow" (Rachmaninov), Miss Nora Gray; "Eriskay Love Lilt" (Kennedy-Fraser), "Air de Lia" (Debussy), Miss E. Ralph; "Hills" (La Forge), "The Donkey" (Besley), Mrs. Ramsay. The accompaniments for the. last three items were played by Miss Vondersloot and by Miss Gray. At the conclusion of the programme, Mrs. Ramsay, on behalf of the pupils, presented Mrs. Ginn with a basket of beautiful flowers, and expressed the grateful thanks of the students to Mrs. Ginn for her helpful interest throughout the year. Supper brought an enjoyable evening to a close.
