DAMAGE BY WHIRLWIND
NEW PLYMOUTH VISITATION
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, This Day. A whirlwind from the direction of the sea struck a portion of the_ Sash and Door Company's buildings at 3.45 o'clock this morning, tearing off fifty yffrds of the roofing and scattering it over a wide area, and smashing a verandah. The wind was followed by a short heavy shower of rain. Residents in the neighbourhood were alarmed by the rain of roofing iron on their gardens and on the roofs of their houses, but there was no other damage.
