Even in important tournaments where a full complement of officials adjudicates irregularities of the rules occur. When Mrs. Wills-Moody met Miss B. Nuthall in the semi-final of the United States Singles Championship Mrs. Moody served in two successive games without the umpire, net-cord, and footfault judges, or any of the linesmen noticing the unusual happening. The mapirt's attention was directed to the fact after the games had been finished. A similar incident occurred in the final of the Victorian Women's Singles Championship a- few years ago. Misses L. Addison and P. Stewart were the opposing play«rs, and it was" not until the match had been completed that a cheek of the score sheet showed that Miss Addison had sorved in "two successive games.
