Mr. Norton" Francis left Wellington last evening for the South Island. . : Mr. E. A. Anderson, of Invercargill, a director of the Bank" of New Zealand, left for the south last night. ' ■ Mr. E. D. Andrews, the well-knowji tennis player, is leaving this evening on a visit to the South Island. Among the guests at the Midland Hotel are Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Barker (London), Messrs. C. Reginald Ford (Auckland), James Brand (Sydney), and W. Nicholls (Christchurch). Sir Henry Buekleton,. general manager of the Bank of New! Zealand, who retires at the end of ' this year, is referred to in the "Bankers' Magazine' 1 London, as one "whose connection "with the Bank of New Zealand has been one of his life's strongest interests," also as a banker "very highly esteemed for. his ability.''
