MASSED BANDS DISPLAY.
A procession of bands will be held in the city this evening, and the liveliness of this event will'be increased by the wearing of fancy costumes and the inclusion of humorous features. The procession is to act as a herald for a still bigger show to be given by • the bands 'and other organisations on Wednesday evening, when a massed bands display will be held at Athletic Park; In addition to the parade of massed bands, including two prize bands, the organisers have assembled an array of dazzling and varied entertainments.^ The ground will be brilliantly illuminated by searchlights and there should be no dull moments. The proceeds are mainly in aid of the furniture fund-of the St. Joseph's Home of Coinpassipn, Silverstream, and the Toe H Orphanages' Camp. Nearly six hundred performers are taking part, including Civil Services Girls, Legion of .Frontiersmen, Kathleen O'Brien's pupils, Jenkins's Physical Culture Class, and Marist Bros.' Schoolboys. Tickets are selling well and grandstand reserves can be booked at the D.T.C. for no extra charge.
