Mrs. George "Waddy, "Meribum," Mavlborough, who has been Tisiting her sister, Jtrs. Ormond Cooper, Murphf Street, returned home today. Mrs. Easterfield, Xclson. is visiting Wellington. Miss Kathleen Stott.-will arrive in Wellington on Monday from. India, to visit friends in New Zealand. On arrival she will stay with Mr. and Mrs. Gibson Stott, Hobson Street. Mrs. Lan MaeKae, "Tyneside," Masterton, and her children ■will spend Christmas with Miss Duncan, Heretaunga. Mrs. Eardley Reynolds, Dunedin, who visited Wellington this week, returned south last evening. Misses Kanc.y and Joan Wheeler, Easdale Street, have motored to Marton for the breaking-up celebrations at Nga Tawa. . Mr. and Mrs. Creagh O'Connor, Grant Eoad, and Miss Betty McParland will spend Christmas at Heretaunga, where they have taken Dr. am] Mrs. Martin Tweed's house. Dr. and Mrs. Tweed and family will spend the holidays at Titahi Bay. Mrs. Maling, Christchurch, left Wellington today by the Eotorua for England. Mr. and Mrs. C. Todd, who have been living in Mrs. Pearson's house in Upland Eoad/ have bought Dr. Prendergast Knight's house in Bolton. Street. Mrs. A. Leslie Maefarlane, Christchurch, and her brother, Mr. Herbert Bichardson, returned liomd last evening, after a brief visit to Wellington. Mr. and. Mrs. Arthur Young, Central Terrace, will spend Christmas at the Golf House, Heretaunga. Miss Marjorie Nairn, Hastings, wlio has bean staying with Mrs. Marmaduke Bethell, Pahau Pastures, North Canterbury, is now the guest of Mrs. W. Trolove, "The Shades," Marlborough. Mrs. Duncan McKay, who has been for a motor tour of Hawke's Bay, has returned to Wellington. Mrs. Owen Mead, Dunedin, is a visitor to Otane, Hawke's Bay, for the marriage of her sister, .Miss Beatrix Loughnan, which will take place next Monday. •. ' Mr. and Mrs. George Ellwood left Wellington today by the Eotorua for a trip to England. Miss G. Turville Petre, who-visited New Zealand about two years ago, is returning by the Rangitata, due at Auckland next Wednesday. Miss E. Port has been appointed district nurse at Paraparaumu, iv place of Miss Ross, who recently resigned. Dr. J. Etching and Mrs. Kitching (Cobham, Surrey, England) are tho guests of Sir Henry and Lady Wigram, Christchurch. Mrs. Kitehing is Lady Wigram's sister. Dr. and Mrs. .Kitching will stay in New Zealand i'or some months, and will then return to England via Panama. Dr. Kitching was last in New Zealand 40 years ago when he spent five days in Wellington enroute to England from Hobart. Miss E. Bull, Christ's College, will arrive iv Wellington next Wednesday, en route to Hastings, where sho will spend the holidays with her sister. Miss Dorothy Mills, Birkeuhead, Auckland, left Wellington today by the Rotorua for England. Mrs. V. B. Mclnnes (Dunedin) and Miss M. Burno (Auckland) are.among the guests at the Hotel St. George.
