PIGEON RACING
The Wellington Homing Pigeon Society held a team*' race comprising^ two pigeons per member from Helensviile, 3do miles airline. Both birds had to be timed 'in and the average of both birds velocities was taken. Owing to a. delay in transit to the liberation point the birds were not liberated until 9.50 a.m., and the birds had a very hard fly against southerly weather. Several members had only one bird in race time and were not placed. The following are the placings of members who got both birds in race time:—*. Clements Clematis and Lofty, 14h 50m 50s, 4; C. kgginton's Newtown Lad and Clarrie, 15h 46ra 28s, 5; J. Perrett's Consistent and Cayenne, 16h 27m 17s, 6.
