MANY TRAVELLING
OVERSEAS PASSENGERS
The Wanganella left Sydney last evening with 300 passengers on board for Wellington. This is the largest inward passenger list that the Wanganella has yet carried, and is only twenty short of her capacity accommodation. In addition, the Wanganella brings 1000 tons of general cargo and maila. On Monday the Monowai arrived at Wellington from Sydney with 314 passengers. This is the largest number brought across the Tasman, for many months, and reflects the heavy travel traffic of the present tourist season. Today the Monowai left Wellington for Sydney with well over 200 passengers on board. According to advice from the Huddart, Parker Company, the Wanganella will probably carry over 300 passengers when she leaves Wellington next Friday for Sydney, Hobart, and Melbourne, after her cruise to the Sounds. For the Sydney-Hobart-Mclbourne round trip the Wanganella is a full ship. She leaves Sydney on Boxing Day and returns on New Tear's Day. The Wanganella is due to arrive at Wellington about 6 a.m. next Monday morning, and will sail later the same day for Milford and George Sounds.
