, COST OF COMPLETION
(By Telegraph.—l'res» Association.) GJSBOENE, This Day. Eeporting to the District Bailway Committee at the request of the Minister .of Public Works, Mr. O. G. Thornton, District Engineer, estimates that the cost of completion of the East Coast line from Waikokopu to Gisborne is slightly in excess of £1,000,000. A detailed report covers the amount of work completed prior to the abandonment, the quantities and value of the material now on the route, and the cost of completion under presentday conditions, also plans and statistical matter of value to private capital likely to be interested in the completion of the line.
