(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH. December 13; In an attempt to lower his own Nijw Zealand record of Oinin 27 3-Ssee for 400 metres backstroke at the tepid baths tonight, L. J. Moorhouse broke the British Empire record by (J 1-Ssec, His time was Omin 0 4-ssec, the previous British Empire record being flmin ICeec.
