An enjoyable afternoon,. ivas spent recently by the members of thb Island Bay-Berhampore Branch of tlie' League of Mothers at their Christmas J^3"^Mrs. •■'Hindmarsh presided.., / ■ ..,' Five candidates \vere admitted into full membership. The members joined in singing a Christmas carol, «and this was followed by the reading of "suggestions" which had been handed in by the members. Metsdames Ewen and Duncan sung a duct which was greatly appreciated, ... Mrs. Hindmarsh,' who attended the Dominion conference as a delegate, gave a comprehensive report which greatly interested members. Miss Olga Burton, accompanied by Miss Elsie IJhillips, contributed a violin solo: Tho performers were accorded a vote of appreciation by the members. Afternoon tea was served, and. a "Sing, Say, or Pay" item was introduced, when each member who did not sing or say something gave a contribution to the league "Christmas Cheer Tin," the funds being to help the less fortunate members. Christmas greetings were exchanged, and the National Anthem Concluded an exceptionally pleasant meeting. Latest' Bridal Fasnlons always interest the prospective bride.
