MISS WILFORD'S PLANS
WEDDING IN PERU
'(From "The Post's" Representative.) „ LONDON, November 7. Marquis Theodoli (Italy), presiding over the Mandates Commission, expressed his great regret that Sir Thomas Wilford would not again be sitting at the same table in Geneva;' "Europe's loss," he said,."will be New Zealand's gain." Sir' Thomas crossed to Geneva specially to attend the League's Mandates Committee. From 10 v ls a.m. to 5 p.m. on the day after arrival, he was closely examined and questioned by twelve experts in connection with the mandated .territory of Western Samoa. He said that the country ha"d» displayed remarkable powers of resistance during "the crisis. Sir Thomas and Lady Wilford and Miss Wilford have settled'down very comfortably at Northwood, in the house belonging to Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wood. In the middle of December Lady Wilford and Miss Wilford will leave for Pern, where the wedding of the latter will take place to Mr. Edward Penrose-FitzGerald. Miss Wilford has been in Paris for her troiisseau. Her Molyneux wedding dress is of nacretinted crepe satin, with train two and a half yards in • length, which ' begins quite low on the skirt—from the back of the knees, indeed. Tho corsage, cut on V-decolletage, has a draped effect at one side. The entire gown is cut en bias, giving a clinging effect. The- enveloping tulle veil, of the same delicate tint as the dress, forma a crown round the head, and extends to meet tho edge of the satin train. Numerous; beautiful wedding presents are arriving. , : . ■ . Mrs. W. Bidwill (Featherston) and Mrs. Tweed (Wellington) are staying at Northwood with Sir Thomas and Lady Wilford. ... ■•,,'■ At a. meeting of the committee of the New Zealand Women's Association yesterday morning it was decided to issue invitations for an-afternoon party, in honour of Lady Wilford and Miss Wilford. Lady Wilford will no longer be president of the association when Sir Thomas retires from tho High Commissionership. So this occasion, November 28, will be the last when she will be present as head of tha organisation. Guests will be asked to meet Lady Wilford and Miss Wilford prior to her tleparture for Peru.
