TEA MARKETS DEARER.
According to private advices received in Wellington the Calcutta and London tea markets were dearer this week to the extent of about %d per pound for all descriptions. At Colombo the market for common teas advanced from 2 to 3 cents per pound, while good broken Pekoes were slightly irregular, and the demand for other grades was less active than at the previous sale. The quantity auctioned was 2,010,0001b, and at next week's sale 2,610,0001b will be catalogued.
