LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL
The Legislative Coiincil had its longest sitting .this session yesterday. It put through all stages the Transport Law Amendment Bill, tie Victoria University College Bill, and the Canterbury University College Bill and carried the second reading of the Companies Bill. Most of tho tinio was taken up on the lastnamed measure, which was referred to the Statutes Revision Committee for report today. The Council sa- all the afternoon and contiiuled its deliberations, in the evening, rising at 9AO o'clock. .1
