V.M.C.A. PARTY

The ~^r.MjG.A. residents' Christmas dinneriand house party was, iield last night in the .association rooms. Mr. D. L. jGibsori, chairman; of the residents' committee, who presided, proposed the toast of the V.M.C.A., and this was replied to by Mr, ;E. H. Nimmo, president of the association^ The toast of the Matron and Staff .was sponsored by Mr. W. B. Boss, Mrs. A. Shepherd responding. An adjournment was then made to the lounge, where a programme of variety entertainment was rendered by residents and friends. Miss M. Connor recited, and Miss D. Story sang, while Messrs. D. Dyer and T>. Gibson played a pianoforte duet. Some card magic by Mr. Q. W. Wiley and a pianoforte solo by Mr. C. Brunt, also a number of brief sketches, by various residents, under the direction of Mr. G; C. Sherwood, completed an interesting programme.
