HUTT V. WAIRARAPA
The. annual cricket match between the Hutt Valley High Schooland the Wairarapa High School commenced yesterday in the Hutt High School's grounds, and was continued today. Hutt Avon the toss and elected to Bat first, their innings'finishing shortly before the close of yesterday's play, for a total of 182. The top scorer was King with 46 runs, and of the Wairarapa bowlers Freeman was the most successful, taking four wickets at a cost of 41 runs. Play-was resumed at 9 a.m. today, Wairarapa then having to their credit from yesterday 54 for the loss of one wicket. The innings closed just before lunch for 232 made in 200 minutes. Best scores were made by Mexted (53) and O'Callaghan (46). White's three for 49 was the best performance among the Hutt bowlers.
