ARMISTICE DAY
TOMORROW'S ARRANGEMENTS
Fifteen years ago .tomorrow, November -11, hostilities- ceased in the Great War, and Armistice Day has since then been observed as a day of remembrance. V •'. . ' , ■ . The usual services will be held in Wellington. That at the Town Hall, over which the Mayor, Mr. T. C A. Hislop will preside, will commence with 'organ selections, played by Mr. W.A. Gatheridge, between 10.30 and. 10.40 a.m: ■■•' The hymn, "O God, Our Help," will'be followed by a lesson read by the Eev. N. Bobertshawe and by prayer offered by the Bey. W. Bramwell Scott. Brigadier D. Macaulay will deliver a short address, and at 11 a.m. the customary two minutes' silence, heralded by the firing of a gun from the forts, will be observed. , Tho hymn, "O Valiant Hearts," sung to the tune of "Abide With Me," will follow tho silence, and the service will conclude with the sounding .of the 'fLast Post" and "Reveille" and with the Benediction. The usual Armistice Day service will beheld at the Dominion Farmers' Institute,- commencing at 10.40 a.m.' Mr. H. F.: Johnstdu, X.C.,' will preside, and an: address will bo given by Canon Percival James,: who was a padro: with the' British. Forces in Mesopotamia. After1 the'two-minutes' silence the hymn,'" O God, Our Help in Ages Pasti". will be sung, and tho service will conclude with the - singing of the National Anthem; ' ' RECITAL. Tho following .Armistice pay programme" will be played,on tho carillon starting at 11' a.m. tomorrow:—West-, minster Chimes (the hour sounded on "Beo Wairua");' the silence; National Anthem; ".Here's a Health Unto His Majesty "; " La"... Marseillaise" (France); Garibaldi's War Hymn (Italy)j "La Brabaconne" (Belgium); "May Our Lord For Ever ;Beign". (Japan); ".The Star-spangled Banner" (America); "Land of Hope and Glory"' (Elgar); hymn, "All People That On, Earth Do Dwell"; National Aithem.: '
