The weather was fine, after being overcast, with some raiu, for the third day of the V.R.C. Spring Meeting. . The attendance was good. :

Gay Star, a stablemate of Shadow King and Palphar, /scored an. easy win in the first division of the Maiden Plate. The New Zealander Dazzling Eaid finished well in fourth place. : Mananna, racing in the same interests as Tuesday's winner, Quarto, led for most of the way in the second division of the Maiden Plate, aud beat the unlucky Variance, who has now been in a minor place in the last five ataris. Displaying improving stamina, Cioden Lad led always in the Byron Moore Stakes and won handsomely. The slow time is attributed to a btrong head wind. Chatham had an effortless task to record , hia third successive victory in the Linlithgqw Stakes. He has registered seven wins in his last eight starts. His rider, Pike, won the LinJithgow Stakes previously on Beverage, 23 years ago, also on Gothic and Phar Lap. Dauilo, who was fifth early, finished well in the Carnival Handicap. Jamieson's Miramond received interference when making a good mn in the straight. Golden Hair, who was fourth early, led into the straight for a comfortable win in the Oaks. She has had three wins for three starts in Victoria. The runner-up cost 25 guineas as a yearling. Ruach, racing in the same interests as the unlucky Variance, compensated his connections with a storting win in the Veteran Stakes. Regal Sou and Ruling Light finished well.
