BRIDGE PARTY

FREE AMBULANCE LADIES

Thirty tables were arranged for bridge in the pleasant social room of the new Free Ambulance Station last evening, when the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Wellington Free Ambulance gave, a bridge party in aid of the ambulance funds. The f unction was .very successful from.the points of view of enjoyment and finance;

A competition was conducted during the evening for a beautiful cake, which had been donated, Mrs. Stevens being the winner. Other dainty articles were sold_ and a. substantial amount was realised.

The ladies' bridge prize was won by Mrs. J. Murray and the gentlemen's,by Mr. Saunders.

The committee comprised Mrs. C. J. B. Norwood (president), Mesdames A. B. Gibbons, B. Sutherland, G. F. Stone, A. Bateson, D. J. McGowan, A. A. Moore, W. H. Gledhill, F. Roffe, E. P. Norman, E. Nannestad, J. Searle, C. W. Dixon, Miss I. Bull, and Dr. Z Aitken.

Among the players were Mr. and Mrs. C. J. B. Norwood, Miss Norwood, Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Moore, Mr. 0. George, Mr. and Mrs. E. P. Norman, Mr. 'and Mrs. Jenson, Mr. and Mrs. Marris.
