HERD TESTING.
An increase in the • number of. cows tested and a large increase; in the yield are features of: the returns of the New Zeala' . Co-operative .Herd-testing Association for the month of September, compared with the figures, of the same month last year. .The association .tested 88,283 cows, in September, 1933, and they gave an average • yield ,of 7961b milk, and 34.381b butter'fat. ' The. test was 4.31. In September, ■ 1932, 80,416 cows were tested, the average quantity of milk supplied . being 7291b, the. average butter-fat return being 29.921b. The test was 4.10. .
