SUCCESSFUL PAETY

KINDERGARTEN EFFORTS

Mrs. H. E. Gibbs, president of the Wellington, Tree Kindergartens, gave a particularly pleasant .and . successful party yesterday afternoon at her home; in Willis Street in aid of the funds of tho schools. The whole house was thrown open to the. visitors (of; whom there were many), and'everywhoro there was sonio special -attraction. / In the dining-room there was delicious afternoon tea, with a number of willing helpers to attend-to the guests, and the drawing-room was a pleasant meeting place. for conversation. Upstairs, there was- a flower room, with quantities of lovely blooms tind' greenery to match, and there were stalls in other rooms for fancy work, aprons, cakes, and .sweets; another very, interesting stall held the handwork of the, students, which came in for much admiration.

,Mrs. Gibbs received- the<guests wearing a charming frock of blue flowered voile, and she was assisted in many ways by Mrs. Dowsett-(secretary), who was in green and black figured silk. Among those who were superintending stalls were Mrs. D. C. Peacock, Mrs. Macdonald Wilson, Mrs. Corkill, Mrs. Britton Smith, Mrs. Millar, Mrs. Hill, Mrs. Johns, Mrs. G. H. P. Davidson, Misses Hall, Yon Dadolzen, Eamsay, Holland, Victor Lloyd, Crawford, Broadhurst, with a. host of helpers. Miss Mary Thompson officiated at the door. Competitions-were won by Mrs. Davidson and Mrs. Oilier (Khandallah). It is anticipated that the funds will be substantially benefited by this excellent effort; but the exact sum is not known yet |as there are promised donations to come in. This party is the beginning of a series of "End-of-the-Year" efforts, as the Mothers' Clubs will shortly hold a stall in town and a "copper trail," and various other means o.£ raising tho necessary funds to keep the good work going in as wide a manner as possible are planned for the near future.
