New Zealand subscribers " drew Shadow King, second horse in the Melbourne Cup in two consultations drawn at Hobart, Tasmania. ' In the larger consultation Shadow: King was drawn by G. G. Burnside, Green Island, Otago, who, as second prize, won £3000, and in the, smaller consultation Shadow King was drawn by "Rotten Luck," care "C.J.," Lower Symonds Street, Auckland, who, as second prize, won £1500.
