The Plumbers' Board regretted that as nine candidates were required to constitute an examination centre, Petone, with only seven candidates, could not be made a centre. ' The Education Department intimated % its approval of a grant to pay for the painting of the old workshops buildings. The work will be put in hand during the vacation. , The unanimous approval of the Board of Managers was given to the suggestions! of the heads of the Auckland secondary schools in regard to amendments which it was considered were necessary to make more effective the censoring of picture films and posters . The Education Department advised that the procedure adopted by the Petone.College in regard .to the election of members of the Board of Managers wae correct, and that the suggestion that nominations should be received prior to the meeting of the electing bodies would be contrary to the regulations. The thanks of the board were expressed to Mr. W. Parkinson for a gift of books, to Mrs. Leary. Mr. and Mrs. Scott, .Mr. and Mrs. Taplin, Mr. and Mrs. Townsend, and Mrs. Aitchison for assisting at the social gatherings of pupils, to Messrs. Bonthorne and Corsfer, the Evening Post," and the Union Clothing Company for allowing displays of work in tuexe windows, and to Miss Broughton and Mr. Hepworth each for the. gift of a tennis racket. _^^_
