LANDING CHARGE URGED
SLIDING SCALE BASED ON PRICE
LONDON, November 1. The Central Associated Chambers of Agriculture passed a.resolution, recommending that a landing charge of 2d a pound on all imported foreign beef should bo made, all of which should bo returned to the importer when the price of prime quality was nol below 6d a pound, and Id returned when tho price was not below sd. Nothing would be returned when the prico was. below 4d. The object of the resolution is to enable the producer to get round Acts of Parliament.
