HUGHES IN AUSTRALIA
FREMANTLE, October 31. G. P. Hughes, captain of the British tennis team, was a passenger by the Orford from London today. Interviewed, Hughes said he regarded Crawford as the finest singles player in the -world. He had no weakness, but had more than his share of bad days. Hughes thinks that Quist and Turnbull, with a little more experience, will be a really tough proposition for any pair in the world. Hughes condemns shorts for tennis and considers them inelegant. He is looking forward to reunion with the other British tennis players now in New Zealand.
