MANSLAUGHTER OF AUNT
JUDGE'S COMMENT

A sentence of five years' imprison* inent with hard labour was imposed oft Leo Starr, 18, for the. manslaughter of his aunt, Katherine Starr.
Mr. Justice Wasley, in passing sentence, said that he had deliberately] withheld Ms verdict for a week, so that he would not,be unduly influenced by; the revolting circumstances' of the case.
Leo Starr, 18 years of age, a farm employee, was arrested at Wanganratta on August 1 and. ctiarged with' the murder of his aunt, Katkerine Starr, 72 years of age, who lived alone, at Tarrawingec. Her head was battered in a terrible manner.
