MINISTER CANDID
BASIC WAGE INADEQUATE

SYDNEY, October 30.
In a speech' at Bandwick, the Minister of Labour and Industry, Mr. J. M. Duhningham, said that he did not consider £ 3 6s Cd was an adequate wage for a man, wife, and family. "The Stato Government," he said, "has not yet reached the fortunate position when we can consider raising our own salaries. I hope that when wo do reaeli that position, we shall be a little more considerate." .
