DONCASTER 'PLANE SMASH
More complete particulars of the aeroplane accident in which Gordon Eichards ■u*as involved show that, it occurred when Richards and the Beckhampton trainer Fred Darling,, were leaving' the Doncaster course . after .the St. Leger Meeting to travel home by air. .The machine crashed in attempting to rise. The pilot was killed, but Darling was only slightly cut and bruised, and Eichards escaped injury. Undeterred by the accident, .Richards flow during the night to Beckhampton, where he rode eight horses in exercise the next morning, and then flew to the Alexandra Park Meeting.
