SHAKESPEARE SOCIETY.

The October meeting of the Shakespeare Society was^ held last Wednesday evening.. There was a largo audience. Mrs. H. D. Watson first played.a'very enjoyable pianoforte solo, "Momento Giogoso," after which the readers presented the whole 6f 'The Tamiug of the Shrew." Duggan; "Gremio," Miss Martin; "Hortensio," Mr. J. P. Nicoll; "Biondello," Mrs. M. Ames;/"Petruchio," Mr. Clement May; "Grumio," Mr^ W. Ross; "Curtis," Mr. F. J. Jones; "A Pedant," Mrs. J. K. Edie; "A Tailor," Miss M. Atkinson; "Vinccntio," Mr. F. J. Pears; "A Widow," Mfcs M. Brooker. The stage directions were by Mr. F. <T, Jones.
