SHAKESPEARE SOCIETY.
The October meeting of the Shakespeare Society was^ held last Wednesday evening.. There was a largo audience. Mrs. H. D. Watson first played.a'very enjoyable pianoforte solo, "Momento Giogoso," after which the readers presented the whole 6f 'The Tamiug of the Shrew." The parts were taken by the following:—"Lucentio," Mrs. C Ross; "Tranio," Mr. Carson; ' Buptista," Mr. F. .1. Brooker; "Katharina," Miss Edith Hind; "Biauca," Miss M. Duggan; "Gremio," Miss Martin; "Hortensio," Mr. J. P. Nicoll; "Biondello," Mrs. M. Ames;/"Petruchio," Mr. Clement May; "Grumio," Mr^ W. Ross; "Curtis," Mr. F. J. Jones; "A Pedant," Mrs. J. K. Edie; "A Tailor," Miss M. Atkinson; "Vinccntio," Mr. F. J. Pears; "A Widow," Mfcs M. Brooker. The stage directions were by Mr. F. <T, Jones.
