His wife, - Julia Marlowe, his stage partner, was at the bedside. Both returned from England three weeks ago.
Edward Sothern, born in 1859, was the son of another famous actor. and comedian, Edward A. Sothern. Sothern the younger appeared first in 1879, but took' tho leading role first 'at the Lyceum, New York, as Jack Hammerton, in ''The Highest Bidder," since when he starred with his own company in Shakespearean and x other drama. He married Julia Marlowe, his second wife, in .1912.
