PLIGHT OF NEW YORK STATE

NEW YORK, October 29. It is announced that a fifth of all tho children in Now York State, the most populous in the Union, are in families receiving public relief, and a ninth of the population,' approximately 1,500,000 persons, are on certified relief roles. Juvenile relief statistics became necessary when the Administration required to compute, its requirements of cod liver oil for tho coming winter.
