DAYLIGHT SAVING
A MODIFICATION
BOWLERS URGED TO ACT
Ten bowling dub* opened the season last Saturday, so tho season is now well under way. The greens all seem to be.in excellent condition and thera appears to be every prospect of :a good season from this point of view. Mention was made at several of the functions of the Summer Time Amendment Bill introduced by Mr. McKeen, and bowlers were urged to give this measure, which' seeks to revert to the full hour of Summer Time, their full stlpport. Bowlers can be depended upon to do this, but as a result of th& discussion in the House of Representatives on Wednesday night Mr. ilcKcea had to agree to a modification merely extending the / half-hour period for one month. Nevertheless, it is urged tliafc bowlers should at once take action to impress upon Parliament that to reject the Bill even.in its modified form Would, be a most unpopular thing to do, and would only result in widening the regrettable breach between town and country. .. . . ~
