DRIVER KILLED
SERVICE CAR IN DITCH
THREE PASSENGERS INJURED

PALMERSTON ,3S*., October 19,
Shortly before S o'clock tonight a fatal accident occurred at Fitzherbert on the main Palmerston North-AVeHing-tu.n highway. Kenneth Frost, a young man whoso home is in Napier, was killed when the service ear which In; was driving-left the road and went iv.to a ditch. Three passengers in the car were injured.
The accident occurred at the foot of a steep hill about sis miles from Palniersfcon North,
I he car apparently left the road when negotiating the sharp bend at tho bottom of the hill on its way to Wellington; The car then proceeded along the side,of the road, ending up in the ditch, rho surface of the roadway at the coruer is covered with loose metal. One passenger, Miss Millicent i\lcGhee, was admitted to hospital with an injured right arm. Another pass«ngcr Jidgar Arnold Collott, a garage proprietor of Gisborne, received slight cuts on the hand. The identity of tho third passenger, who was also slightly injured, is nofc known yet. , The driver was dead when a doctor arrived.
