For the theft of'a bag of coal valued at 4s, the property of the Railway Department, William Brown, aged 63, a relief worker, was* convicted and ordered to come up for sentence.if called upon within twelve months. An order was made for toe return of the coal to its owner. For procuring a firearm ■without a permit William Mclver was fined 10s, and John Skinner was convicted and discharged. An order for the forfeiture of the firearm was made in Mclver's case. Donald John McKenzie was fined 10s for carrying a pistol without, a permit: An order was made for the forfeiture of the weaponl Stated by Senior-Sergeant Dempsey to be' nearly 70 years* old, Benedict Waring wo/? fined. £3 for the theft of three loaves of bread, valued at Is, the. property of Mudgway and Fuller, and was convicted and discharged for stealing two eggs, valued- at 2d, the property of the SelfHelp Company. The senior-sergeant said that until 1931 Waring aeemed to have led a clean life, but he lost his employment, mid-since then had appeared before the <Jpurt four times on charges of theft from shops. 1
