OBITUARY

MR. S. E. WRIGHT

AUCKLAND, This Day. . The death has occurred of Mr. S. E. Wright, secretary of the Auckland Employers' Association.

Born at Lyttelton, Mr. Wright was the second son of the late Mr. F. E. Wright, formerly postmaster at Christchurch. He was educated at Christ's College, and later entered a commercial office, and somo years lator he removed to Wellington, and after a short residence there commenced practice as a public accountant in Masterton. His long association with the Employers' Federation was commenced while he was in Masterton, and was continued during a later period of seven years spent in j Napier. . He removed to Auckland 20 years ago on being appointed secretary of the Auckland Employers' Association. During his residence in Christchurch Mr. AVright was a keen oarsman, being a member of the Canterbury Bowing Club. He took up bowling while in Napier, and later was a member of the Kemuera Bowling Club. A serious illness which resulted in a permanent limp caused him to abandon the sport about 15 years ! ago. Mr. Wright was a member of the board of managers of the Seddon Memorial Technical College, an institution in which 'ho took a great interest His hobby; .was wood-carving, and his . homo contains many fine examples of. skill.. Mr. Wright is survived by his wife, formerly. Miss Ada Cuddon, of Christchurch, and a son, I Mr. F. Wright, of Devonport.
