PETONE BEAUTIFYING SOCIETY
The annual meeting o£ the Petone Beautifying and Foreshore Improvement Society was held last evening, Mr. J. W. McEwan presiding over a fair attendance.
It was decided to hold tho annual boach carnival from December 20 to January 2. It was also decided to erect more seats, to be placed on the area that has been improved by tarsealing between Cuba and Jessie Streets.
A resolution was passed thanking the council for the work carried out in conjunction with the society in the western end of the borough, and also for works that will be carried out.
The balance-sheet showed a credit balance of £.129 2s 7d. Officers were elected as follows: —President, Mr. J. W. MeEwan; secretary, Mr. O. Silbery; treasurer, Mr. H. Firth; auditor, Mr. C.
