The view was expressed by members o£ the Lower Hutt Borough Council last evening that the .schedule set for tho carrying out of improvements to the Lower Hutt Recreation Ground was not being adhered to, and that the ground would not be ready for cricket in January. The Mayor, Mr, J. W. Andrews, assured councillors, however, that though a late Rugby match and then bad weather had seriously delayed the work, the time lost was rapidly being caught up, and by the end of the week the work would be up to schedule time.. Provided the weather was reasonably fine the grounds would be ready by January.
