CHANCELLOR AGREES

Tho Chancellor of the Exchequer has agreed to an immediate issue by the Government of the Union of Soutli Africa for the purpose of refunding £13,000,000 of, 5 per cent, stock 1933-43. This is an exceptional measure and docs not in any way imply the withdrawal of the Chancellor of the Exchequer's request regarding the optional conversion of trustee securities published on January 14 last.
