HAUTERE RIFLE CLUB
Members of the Hautere Defence Rifle Club fired on Saturday nt three ranges, 300, 500, and 600 yards. The weather conditions were unfavourable, the light being particularly bad at 600 yds. Two optional sighters and seven counting shots were fired at each range. Mrs. C. Morgan, nominated by Rifleman C. Morgan, was highest with 97, Miss E. Turner, nominated by Rifleman K. Pullman, was runner-up with 95, and Miss D. Lumsden, nominated by Rifleman S. Lumsden, was third with 94. At the conclusion of the firing the ladies provided afternoon tea. Highest scores off the rifle were as follows: —Rifleman H. Lnmsden, 92; Rifleman K. Pullman. 91; Rifleman C. Morgan, 88; Rifleman L. Lumsden. 88; Deputy President V. Cottle, 85; Rifleman T. Trembath, 85; Rifleman C. Strom, 84; President A. Thomson, 84; Rifleman S. Lumsden. 80.
