McCOMBS. ' Paying a tribute to the late Jlr. J. '• JlcCombs in the House of Representatives this afternoon, Mr. H. E. Holland said that Jlr. JlcCoaibs had fought doggedly against every form of injustice, both in the House and in the constituencies, lie bad never been found wanting and Uis death was a loss not only to Labour but to the ' nation as a whole. Jlr. McCombs had never relegated principle to expediency and he had risked his place In the House , because of his principles. The first Bill with the object of giving women the right j to sit in Parliament had been introduced : by the late Jlr. JlcCombs. Mr. D. G. Sullivan (Labour, Afron) Slid that 3lr. JlcCombs was without doubt the bravest man in the House of Representatives. It had been the speaker's privilege to induce Jlr. JlcCombs to associate ; himself with the Labour Party. Mr. McCombs had been imbued throughout his life with one desire —to Improve the lot 6f his fellow-men. Other members paid tribute to Mr. McCombs's memory, and the Prime Minister's motion was carried.
