DEBUTANTES PRESENTED

Before the commencement of the ball given nt Government House last evening by their Excellencies tho Gover-nor-General and Lady Bledisloc, tliirtythrco. debutantes wero presented, and made their curtsey, the presentations being carried out with charming simplicity and dignity. ''.■■:.; , Sonio very attractive and dainty frocks were worn by the debutantes, all of them appropriately being whits or, some pastel tint. Her bouquet was of soft roso pink. She was presented by Mrs. 11. F. Arkwright, who wore an emerald green satin frock. Miss Adrienne Bccre, who woro a simple frock of white satin bcauto with largo shoulder frills and bow at the waist of tho reverse side of tho satin. Sho carried frcesias, hyacinths, and snowdrops." Mrs. W. Bcerc, who presented her, woro a "chanel model gown of leaf green satin. Miss Molly Bishop, who wore a frock of palo pink phantom crepe cut on diagonal lines, with a.'capo over one shoulder and a:bow oil tho other. Hunter Clarke, who presented Her, was in a black chiffon Velvet,'gown with cowl neck revealing a lining of pearl eire satin. Miss Ngaire Cobbo (Chateau Tongariro), who woro a frock of white organdie laco and' plain .organdie, the bodico tut on Princess lines, and detachable capo being,appliques outlined with silver thread to match the hem of tho frock. She carried a posy of cherry cyclamen and green foliage. Miss Doreon Cobbo, who wore a frock of white crinkled organza, had a long bodice and fully flftred skirt, the h*em finished with a deep band of appliqued flowers, and two frills of plain organdie. Tho capo sleeves had' matching bands of appliques, ond/she carried a posy of pink and blue hyacinths and Parma violets. Goldsmith, J.P., who presented her, wore a black lace and georgetto frock, with ends of black velvet falling from the V-back. Sho woro a shoulder spray of white flowers. Miss Edna Houlkor, who woro a simple frock of white georgette with shoulder capo edged with niching. She carried pink carnations and freesiax. She was presented by Mrs. Knox Gilmcr. Miss Peggy Kain woro a bouffant frock of ivory silk laco over organdie, tho moulded bodice having a .capo effect, and tho skirt being composed of throo- flounces with trails of deep apricot roses.
