BILLIARDS
• The city and suburban billiards tournament is to commence on Monday, October 2.--Several new entries have been, received, and this augurs well for a successful season. Brooklyn, last year's winners, will this year have more youthful and as yet untried players. Under the new regulations all games will be longer and teams numerically smaller, this being expected to elevate the standard of play generally. The official drawing is being made this week..
