ADVICE OF EXPERTS
IN SOLVING DIFFICULTIES
UNIVERSITY'S PART
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.)
CHRISTCHURCH, This Day.
The increasing tendency the world over to seek the aid of experts in efforts to overcome difficulties was commented on by Mr. C. T. Aschman, chairman of the Canterbury College Board of Governors, when speaking at a welcome homo from tho World Economic Conference to Professor Toeker. "I can state on behalf of Canterbury College, and I think on behalfof the University of New Zealand," said Mr. Aschman, "that if it can add to the sum of human knowledge by allowing its officers to take part in assisting in the. solution of national difficulties, it is, and will be, glad to do so. It would surprise nost of you if I told you of the work that Canterbury College is doing at the request of those outside it, especially on the scientific side. An appeal for assistance by the Government or ofganisations is not an asking of favours, but a claiming of a right, and the more that right is exer-. cised tho better will the governing authorities be pleased."
