CARILLON RECITAL
THE BATTLE OF THE 'SOMME,
Tomorrow, the 17th anniversary of the entry of the New Zealand Division into the* Battle of The Soinme on September 15, 1916, will be commemorated by a special rc.citaf on the National War Memorial Carillon, Buckle Street. Commencing at 4 p.m., the carijlonist, Miss Gladys Watkins, will play the following programme: —Westminster Chimes; "fhe Blaebells of Scotland"; "Shenandoah" (a sea chanty); "Come, Lassies and Lads" (17th cent. English); "O, My Love is like a Red, Red Rose" (Scotch); "Killarney" (Irish); "Over the Sea to Skye" (Highland rowing song); "E Pari Ra" (Maori, a song of parting); tho New Zealand Division's boll, "The Sommc" (sounded eight times). The National Anthem.
For not having: a heavy traffic licence, David Pretty was fined 10s by Messrs. J. 0. Diifli and P. Davis, J.P.b, at the Upper Hut I. Court yesterday, _ _
