CREDITORS DISSATISFIED

An adjourned meeting of creditors in the bankrupt estate of Alexander William Phillips, builder, was held today at the office of the Official Assignee (Mr. S. Tansley). Mr. X. A. i'oden, who appeared for bankrupt, submitted a statement of receipts and expenditure so far as he had been able to ascertain the position. Owing to the absence of certain data it was not possible, however, ho said, to furnish a complete statement at present. The purpose of tho statement was to enable the bankrupt to account for an apparent deficiency concerning which the creditors had expressed disapproval.

The. bankrupt was subjected to a close questioning by Messrs. Wiren and Arndt, solicitors for two of the creditors, in regard to certain matters connected with tho bankruptcy. The replies given by the bankrupt were not regarded as satisfactory, and it was decided, with the consent of the. Official Assignee, to hold another meeting of creditor? at an early date at| which the bankrupt's wife will be asked to give evidence. The meeting was then adjourned.
