ATTACK ON GOVERNOR
BOMB ON RAILWAY
CALCUTTA, August 1. An attempt to Mil the Governor of Bengal, Sir John Anderson, with a bomb on a railway track has failed. His Excellency was returning from, a tour of East Bengal. The pilot engine was entering Kalukhali %tation, 135 miles from Calcutta, when a loud explosion occurred under the engine. Examination showed that a bomb haj, been placed between the points. Fortunately, the bomb was either old or badly manufactured, and the engine and the railway track were only slightly; damaged. The Governor reached Cal* cutta safely.
