PEACEFUL SOLUTION
(Received August 9, 9 a.m.) SHANGHAI, August 8. A peaceful solution of the Charhar situation is reported to have been reached. A circular telegram from Feng Yu-hsiang announces his preparedness to hand over military and political affairs in Charhar to General Sung Chen-yuan, Nanking's appointee, Feng agreeing to leave Kalgan and proceed to Changpei, where he will await the\ future decision of the Government. *
