COMING EVENTS

A special meeting of the New Zealand Golf Association, held prior to the monthly meeting at which seventy-four clubs were represented cither personally or by proxy, carried the following resolution pursuant to the requisite notice:—(a) _ That the council be authorised to deduct from each affiliated club's subscription for 'the year commencing August 1, 1933, an amount equal to 25 per cent, of the subscription payable under the rules; (b) that the association shall pay out" of its revenue for the year commencing August 1, 1933, a sum of £100. to' the New Zealand Ladies' Golf Union. The monthly meeting was attended by Sir Alexander Roberts (chairman), and Messrs, A. D. S. Duncan, W. K. A. Gill, \V. A. Kiely, J. H. Drake, A. R. Selanderitf and G. O. Sutton (secretary). An apology for absence was received from Mr. K. Page. ' A draft of the revenue account ior tho financial year ended July 31, 1933, was before the council, and it was decided, before finalising the account, to debit this year s revenue with the sum of £70 which is to be held in reserve for next year's KirkWindeyer Cup expenses, and to transfer the balance of surplus revenue, £10 17s 3d, to the accumulated fund. The draft balance-sheet presented showed a surplus of assets of £650 2s sd, in addition to the reserve referred to. A resignation was received from the Canterbury Agricultural College Golf Club owing to their course being unavailable this season. It was reported that the proof of the 1933 championship programme had been received', and returned for final printing. The application of the Titirangi Golf Club .to charge sate money on the occasion of the championship events was approved. A fair proportion of clubs have already returned their new standard scratch score forms', but it was resolved that owing to the nearness of the date of the championship'meeting, and the fact that all clubs have not yet returned their forms, the question of rearranging standard scratch scores be left over until early nest year. It was resolved to affirm a previous view expressed by the council that the Southland Golf Association cannot be recognised by the council unless'its membership consists entirely of clubs which are affiliated to the New Zealand Golf Association. The chairman's action in authorising the secretary to ask two of the Auckland golf clubs whether they would be prepared to arrange a match between a team of Auckland representatives (men) and the ladies' team., on Thursday,. August. 17, the day before the ladies leave for Australia, was confirmed, and it was reported that tho arrangements ' are being made. DATES OF FIXTURES.
