OBITUARY
MR. S. F. BAULT
i The dpatli occurred on July 29' at the residence ol his eldest soji, Mr, E. C. Bault, Main Road, Trentham, of Mr. Sidney Frank Bault, of Upper Hutt. The late Mr. Bault, who/was born in London in 1853, was in' his 80th year, and had spent the greater part of his life in the Dominion. He served in the Royal Navy beforo coming to Wellington in tho early seventies. After a brief, residence here, ho settled in Masterton in the early days of- that town. He jemainod there until, 1889, being one of the founders of the Kuripuni Methodist Sunday School, the jubilee of which ho attended in 1930. Removing successively to Mauricevillc, Pahiatua, and Mangatainoka, ho returned .to Wellington, and entered the service of the Harbour Board, and remained in it for twenty years. Ho spent his latter years principally at Trentham and Upper Hutt. He maintained an active connection with church work for many years, and was identified with the Presbyterian Churches at-Kilbir-nie and Upper Hutt. Mr. Bault was thrice married, his first wife dying in Pahiatua, jn 1891. Of this marriage two sons survive, Messrs. E. C. Bault, of the Ordnance Department, Trentham, and A. A. Bault, of the Railway Department, Auckland. He afterwards married Mrs. M. Quarterman, and Mis- W. Andrew, of Christchurch, is a daughter of the second marriage. In June 1900, Mr. Bault married his third wife, Mrs. M. Philpott. He leaves eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Tho interment took place at the Wallaceville Presbyterian Cemetery on July 31, the Rev. Mr. Hunt, of Upper Hutt, officiating. The pall-bearers were Messrs. J. 0. Maule, Robertson, F. Q. Chappell, R. Gamble, T. McLaughlin, and D, Strickland. Besides a number of relatives and other friends, repre* sentatives of the Presbyterian Churches of Upper Hutt and Kilbirnie, the Methodist Church at Upper Hutt, the Ordnance) Department, Trentham, and the Railway Department were present.
