COMPETITIONS RESULTS
There were good attendances in'StlGilei Hall last sight, when the pupils attending the Kilbiruie School took part in a series of ■ competitions organised by th» Home and School Association. In hi« opening remarks, Mr,. T. Forsyth, chairman of the Education Boa,rd. emphasised the value'of such competitions .and congratulated KJlbirnie on ■ being the - first of the city schools to inaugurate this form of , entertainment. • The;' ■adjudicators, Madame Eugenic Dennis and 'Mr. Edwin Dennis, made the following awards:— Singing.—Girls, 8 to 10, B. At the termination of the competitions, which extended over three nights, the judges referred to. the naturalness of the competitors, and said' that many of. them, had displayed surprisingly good ■ talent. They specially remarked on the attention to diction, which was to the ■ credit •of the teachers. ■ . ■ .
